Broken Open Book Launch at Revolution Hall
On September 8, 2024, Martha Gies celebrated the launch of her memoir, Broken Open at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon. More than 150 people attended the event, which was hosted by writer and activist Laura Moulton, and tabled by Revolutions Bookshop. Gies read the essay “The Man in the Pew,” from the book, then took questions. One attendee’s generous feedback, “Your words carry deep emotional power. The room was transfixed.”
